Stock suspensions of trucks have too much sway that can cause shock binds and inefficient shock absorption.

what I did was make my own pvc shims and fit it :

front sub suspensions, no mod needed, maybe replace with stiffer springs in the future :

place the truck on Gnoj's marble bench for easy shock repair.

you need one used credit card, one call card and a hole punch set :

the suspension system exposed :

Use the punch set to make o rings depending ...

Just got one this saturday, Atlast!!!

this one packs a lot of firepower!

- 4pcs of AA batteries in the car means double the speed and torque of the ordinary racing tins!

- 4 intependent spring suspension/damper

- 2 independent sub spring suspension on each front steering knucles

- front and rear "H" type leaf suspension for total body flotation

Count that, that's 8 suspension systems all in one car! Well, if you include the inflated hollow tires you ...

Yesterday I bought an auldey mini4wd boxed kit just to get the motor.

first thing I've noticed is that the motor has a stronger magnet than stock motors.

I've installed it to my racing tin but it doesn't run y itself. You have to give it a spin first to encourage the armature to start.

once it starts spinning, it does give lot's of torque and speed! but the trade off is the transistors of the PCB board heats up to dangerous levels!

Ok that didn't worked! sees like we can only ...

Was Planning to go back to mini4wd races but the race schedules are not that inviting.

So here's my next alternative, R/C Racing. specifically those racing tins :

Here's a tip, get those Gen3 series with chrome plated cans and cars, the differential gearbox is enclosed. Unlike the cheaper models (red casing, plain cars) the gearbox is exposed, risking damage to the pinion gears and stuff. The cheaper model is also noisy since the gears are exposed.

the Chrome model already ...

i got this at toytown, market market.

It's a real 4x4 drive r/c that really drifts!

Actually I got the tip from the RC drifter's forums, somebody got this first and posted it there.

It is a clone of the Tomy Takara Drifter light R/C w/ c cost P3k!

This clone, titled Extreme drifter, cost only P499!

It comes with racing slick tires and PVC drift tires and those 4 pylons.

My only gripe is that it runs on 3 AAA batteries and the controller runs on 2 AAA batteries.

Here are the models you can choose.

hint : The model type is seen at the rear end of the car, just look at the bottom of the sealed can.

hint # 2 if you will get more than one car, make sure they are of different frequency settings! I almost made a mistake on that one. good thing each model comes in varying frequencies.

Regarding Suspensions for Racing Tins

Two Schools of Thought

One set up method is to use stiffer springs and or anti-roll bar to give understeer in mid turn. Stiff springs affect mid corner more than turn in. That is because while the car is still going straight during turn in, both front springs are compressed evenly anyway. Anti-roll bar does not do anything. Only during mid corner once the car is settled in a corner where outside spring is compressed more than inside spring do spring stiffness play a role in traction. Using ...

From the Mini Z resource center :

Bumpers

Mini-Z cars don't have bumpers. Their plastic bodies can take quite a beating and not crack. However, even on RCP tracks, a right hit can crack the body. The ones with the lights close to the front of the body is more vulnerable since the lights are made from transparent plastics which are brittle. After completely destroying one body and in another day, I cracked two bodies, I decided to find a solution. Cutting a bumper from a flat sheet of ...
